New and Improved Food Journal

New and Improved

New and Improved.  It’s a wash day miracle!  You never felt so clean before.  You will lose twenty pounds in five minutes.  You will get 67 mpg in your big SUV…Okay, probably not any of those things.  So, what’s new and improved?

I have been thinking about the Food Journal for the last few weeks.  It was okay, and a lot of people liked it, but it could be better.  So, what did I do?  Improved it.

One of the problems with the original Food Journal was that it was more of a log.  There wasn’t a lot of space in which to write what you ate – which is a problem in a lot of Food Diaries and Logs  There wasn’t a place to list carbs or calories.  But, and this is a big thing, you could show seven days at one time – which is big as you work to spot trends and what works.

But, it just did not work for some folks.  I listened to your comments.  And, it was approached as a team project.

So, what did we do?  We started over and developed a new form.  We looked at a lot of Food Logs and Diaries, and hope we have provided a common sense solution to something we all use at one time or another in our War On Diabetes.

We decided on a half page per day format – much more space to write down what you eat.  We included a carb or calorie count area so it’s easier to keep track of them.  Reminders about taking meds.   Reminders about exercising. Areas in which to record your glucose readings.

But the biggest improvement for some will be that there is an area in which to write whatever you choose to write.  Hopes.  Frustrations.  Victories.  Whatever is on your mind.

Please take a look and let us know what you think.  Now, you have a choice, or use them both.  You can see it by clicking “New Food Diary Plus” on the Nav Bar, or you can click here for direct access.

As always, thank you for reading.

I am not a doctor or health professional. I am just a guy who is working everyday to control Type 2 Diabetes. My goal is to offer hope, help and solutions for day-to-day living for the diabetic. The disease can be controlled. It can be managed. And, you can do it!
