What Can I Eat?

Food Crap

What can I eat?  Well, that explains it pretty well. That’s the first question I asked when I started my War On Diabetes. And, one that I continue to ask.  I really wished I had asked it when I was told I had Prediabetes.

I will admit that I do not eat organic food exclusively.  And, I eat lean beef sometimes, but work to eat more fish and chicken – which are great.  By the way, most diets I have seen add whole grains, as well.

If you do nothing else, stay away from the CRAP.  Your blood sugar will go down.  Your blood pressure will go down.  Your weight will go down.  See a theme there?

And, your overall health could very well amaze scientists!

Look, I know it’s tough to leave some of those things behind.  But, if  you are fighting Diabetes, or Prediabetes, a great place to start is by eating real food, which will give you real energy to fight your war.

By the way, something I have found is that when I am eating correctly, I have very few cravings for other things;  I don’t crave the CRAP.  Feed your body right, and it won’t want the other junk – that’s just what it comes down to.  As a result, the War is easier to fight.

I have to thank Nancy Riniti because it was on her blog that I first saw this graphic.  Take time to look at what she posts – Nancy is thoughtful and has a sense of humor.

You can fight Diabetes. You can fight and win your War.  Believe it, please, because I do.

As always, thank you for reading.

  1. Phil, may I add that real food usually results in good tasting food? When I was learning how to cook, all decent cookbooks I read (not necessarily have bought) said the same thing – buy fresh ingredients and avoid using ready-made, commercialized products.
