Every War Has Heroes

half Michelle Gra Certificate of Valor

Every war has heroes.  You know what heroes are; you know them when you see them. They are those folks who show quiet courage and determination in trying circumstances.

The War On Diabetes is no different.  There are heroes among us, and we’d like to recognize one by issuing the first War On Diabetes Certificate of Valor to Michelle Gra.

For a lot of us, Diabetes is the one big thing we have to deal with.  Well, Michelle has had a bit more to work through as she fought Diabetes and continued to volunteer within her community. Diabetes did not stop her; it only served to motivate her to fight for her life.

Like so many of us, Shell gained new confidence as a result of controlling he Diabetes.  She knows you can control it, too.

Now if I can do these things I know in my heart you can as well. It’s just a matter of doing what the doctor has asked you to do and not deny yourself of the life you so deserve.

The life you deserve…are you living it?  Don’t let Diabetes, or Prediabetes get in your way. Control it as Shell has done, and be ready to enjoy a fuller life.  The life, as Shell says, you deserve.

Thank you, Shell, for being an example.  Thank you for being a hero – although I am sure you would deny you are one. You can read about Shell’s adventures in her blog, Shell’s Journey.

If you know of heroes among us; those people who have quietly declared their War On Diabetes and are winning, please let us know.  Diabetes is a life sentence, but does not have to define your life.

Please complete the form below.

I am not a doctor or health professional. I am just a guy who is working everyday to control Type 2 Diabetes. My goal is to offer hope, help and solutions for day-to-day living for the diabetic. The disease can be controlled. It can be managed. And, you can do it!
