World Domination

Dr. Evil

You know, there’s just not enough written about World Domination any more.

Every standard Very Evil Villain has just one dream: World Domination.  They may not know what they are going to do once that goal is achieved, but they continue to strive for it anyway developing fiendish plots.  It’s just what they do, right?

Well…a long drawn out ‘well’ at that…they could learn from Diabetes.  Really.  Look at how its achieving World Domination.

Make joining the Army of Domination easy.  Have several different ways to enlist.  Let’s see, there’s Prediabetes, Type 1 Diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes.  Multiple entry points that are easily accessible.  Check.

Second, control the economy.  According to an article in CNN based on information from the ADA, New research from the American Diabetes Association shows the total cost of diabetes was $245 billion in 2012 — a 41% increase from the $174 billion spent in 2007.”  That’s just in the United States…but a pretty good start toward World Domination.

World Domination

Next, after controlling a significant amount of money, enslave people.  “An estimated 22.3 million people were living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes in 2012, according to the new report, up from 17.5 million in 2007.”  (CNN) You have the money and the people in the most powerful country in the World…and you haven’t fired even one massive laser cannon.  Not too shabby!  Diabetes is being very efficient.

Then, again, since Diabetes is bent on World Domination, the US would not be enough.  Diabetes has to control more money and enslave more people. According to an article in The Huffington Post“Estimates have put the numbers as high as 552 million for those who could have diabetes by 2030, and as is shown in the chart above, certain countries are facing a more difficult time with it than others.”

Take a look at the list of the countries in that article and the amounts of money being spent on Diabetes care and on the number of folks who have the disease.  No spies. No armies.  Just a disease that is spreading rapidly.

World Dominatin for Dummies

Is the fight hopeless?  Are we destined to be enslaved to World Domination by Diabetes?  Have they written the book on world domination?  Well, I know the final chapter has not been written.  We have to turn to a new Super Hero…You.  (You had to know this was coming.) You are the one who will write the final chapter.

You have the power to control Diabetes.  You have the power to defeat the disease and push it back into remission, even. Think about it.  How many Super Heroes control diseases?  None of them even try.  Forget leaping over tall buildings.  A walk around the block can control diabetes…regular exercise.  A healthy diet.  And, take your meds as prescribed.

That’s it.  No mask.  No cape.  No secret cave where you can plot the defeat of Diabetes.  You do it all in the open.

Declare your War On Diabetes today.  You can win.  You can control the disease.

“Prevention programs put into place around the world have demonstrated that certain lifestyle behaviors — specifically, a healthy meal plan, regular physical activity and weight control — can bring the risk of getting the disease down by almost 50 per cent.”

As always, thank you for reading.

I am not a doctor or health professional. I am just a guy who is working everyday to control Type 2 Diabetes. My goal is to offer hope, help and solutions for day-to-day living for the diabetic. The disease can be controlled. It can be managed. And, you can do it!
