“…we’re not in Kansas any more…”

tornado

The recent tornadoes got me to thinking.  Are you prepared for an emergency?  Do you have a ‘go bag’ with your meds that you can just grab and run?  You need one.  Why?  Because I don’t know of any area of the world that does not get struck by hurricanes, cyclones, earthquakes, extreme weather, floods, or some other incredible display of Nature’s Power.  When that happens, you need to be ready.

Do you wear a medical alert tag?  Or, at the very least, do you have your meds written down on a piece of paper in your wallet or purse?  If not, do it right now.  Use the back of a business card and place it behind your license, or in a conspicuous place so it can be found easily.

Prepare and have your med go bag ready to grab.

Read the first post on Emergency Preparedness for the Diabetic for basic information.

Emergency Preparedness for Diabetics.

Basic Emergency Preparedness.

Diabetes is a 24/7 disease that will not take time off because there is an emergency.  In fact, due to stress your glucose levels are going to rise and you will need to have your meds at hand.

Please, don’t take a chance.  Be ready.

As always, thank you for reading.
