Clearly I have recently found it’s easy to introduce videos into the blog posting. Sometimes, I am technology challenged. But, better late than never, right?
Videos are a great tool, as long as they come from an authoritative source. The videos I have in this posting were made by Dr. Craig Blackwell, MD. Dr. Blackwell is an ophthalmologist (eye specialist) who is first a medical doctor and has his practice in Santa Cruz, California. In his videos he explains what Diabetes is, how it effects the body, and some basics on how to control the Disease. I have to tell you, his is one of the best explanations I have seen on the disease – one that everyone can understand.
So, get a cup of tea, sit back and enjoy the first video. By the way, each video is about 10 minutes long and for some it’s the explanation you wish your doctor would have given you when you were diagnosed.
Don’t you wish your doctor was like him? Please don’t be jealous, but my doctor is even better!
And, now for the next video.
Do you wonder why I emphasize control? There’s a lot that Diabetes can do to us if we don’t control it. What’s control? Well, that’s something you and your doctor decide. For me – and I emphasize for me, it’s an A1c of about 6.0. For you it might be 6.5, or 5.5, or anything under 7.0. Again, it’s a decision you make with your doctor.
Together we can beat Diabetes.
As always, thank you for watching and reading!
