Holidays. Shopping. Stress. Those three follow one another like night follows day. I don’t think I could find anyone who would disagree. Why in the world would anyone who has Diabetes ever want to add to the stress. And, yet we do.
I won’t go into all of the boring facts, but I did venture out today for a bit of shopping and got a bit hungry. Normally, not a problem. I usually have a low carb granola-type bar around to grab. But did I remember to bring any snack with me? Of course not. And, none of the available choices for a snack were diabetic friendly.
What am I going to remember to do? Put a simple snack in the car or my pocket, or somewhere that I can get to it for a Holiday Quickie Snack. Take that bar, or cheese, or whatever your snack of choice is and make sure it’s with you so you won’t succumb to all of the sugar and carbs around you…well, at least give yourself a chance to resist them.
I really want you to have the best life you can have. Part of that life is controlling diabetes, and one step to doing that is to always bring a ‘travelling’ snack with you if you are going to be out.
